Lincs. Consortium of Grammar Schools
The Lincolnshire Consortium of Grammar Schools was created to coordinate Testing arrangements across the county. Currently, 13 out of the 14 grammar schools, together with King Edward's VI Humanities College in Spilsby, which is a bilateral school, belong to the Consortium and follow the same Testing arrangements.
Having dealt with the current head of the consortium when we created a website for the 14-19 engineering diploma we were their obvious first choice. The Consortium's intention was to dispel 11+ myths, offer clear information on admission and testing, and offer non-school specific content.
We knew that we would be working to please thirteen stakeholders rather than just one client; a content manageable website meant that each school could stay in control of its own admissions policy and school abstract, as well as their contact details.
Our design expertise was called into play in creating a design and colour scheme that would successfully compliment the many different school brandings and colour ways. We included an interactive Flash map showing the schools' designated transport areas, with major villages and roads clearly marked.
Behind the informative front end of the site is an intuitive content management system built by us, and a secure file store allowing the safe and protected distribution of sensitive information.
"In its first year, Strikemdia’s new website for the Lincolnshire Grammar Schools Consortium has proved its worth by the reduction in the time spent by secretaries and administrators in the school fielding general enquiries from parents. It is complex, containing information about 15 schools as well as the coordinated selection arrangements, but we are grateful to Strikemedia whose professional approach produced a design which is attractive and easy to navigate."
